“A Kind of Infinity”

Although only a theoretical possibility, there can be two solutions to Einstein's gravitational field equations, suggesting not only the existence of black holes in the universe, but also the possibility of white holes, where matter could be ejected into the universe instead of being sucked out of it. In theory, if the black holes and white holes were temporarily connected by a, so called, wormhole, matter could be destroyed in a black hole and re-emerge from a white hole in another time and place and even in another universe. This seems to me to describe a kind of infinity.

This sculpture was created from Purbeck blue marble.
